Supplies

  • Light Malt Extract Powder
  • Agar Agar Powder
  • Pre-Sterilized Petri Dishes
  • Pressure Cooker
  • Still Air Box/Flow Hood

Instructions

Measure out 10g of Light Malt Extract Powder. Add to a mixing vessel.

Then add 10g of Agar Agar Powder. I like this brand over some of the cheaper ones.

Then add 500mL of distilled water. Therefore we should be at around 520grams total.

I added some food coloring, which is useful if you are trying out multiple recipes at once and want to keep track. Also I put it in a PP5 container and cover it with foil so it stays protected.

Now put it in the Pressure Cooker and cook for about 30 minutes, at 15 PSI.

Im working on some computer vision stuff, so I made this camera mount yesterday 😉.

Then take it out and let it cool until its around 120F. Thats when you want to pour it into plates. Dont delay too much or else itll get chunky on you.

Carefully pour the hot liquid into your petri dishes in a sterile environment!

You’re done! Its easy! Happy cultivating!
